A Frantic Frenchman and His Camera - The Plot of Exit Through The Gift Shop
Summing Up Exit Through The Gift Shop
Exit Through the Gift Shop doesn't sound like it could be the film of the year but it is definitely up there. It's refreshing to see a film that can actually hold my attention throughout the entirety of the film.

Exit Through The Gift Shop Review
This film is amazingly inspiring and showcases some of the most unique and seldom seen street art of our time. Although the film is a documentary, it doesn’t suffer from any tired or trite documentary flaws. Exit Through the Gift Shop manages to be funny, inspiring, heartbreaking and confusing all in one neat package.
Life is Beautiful - Thoughts and Feelings On Exit Through The Gift Shop
One might expect that a documentary centered on street artists and their work would be rather straight forward and dull. In the case of Exit Through the Gift Shop; however, that is simply not the case. The best part about this movie is that not only does it work as a documentary GHD Hair Straightner Black IV Styler, but it also works as a motion picture.
The documentary focuses on an eccentric and absent minded Frenchmen GHD Limited Pink Hair Straightener, Thierry Guetta, whose life consists of constant filming. The man doesn’t do anything without his camera. Through his cousin, a street artist, Guetta meets a talented graffiti artist named Shepard Fairey whose art helps convince Guetta to finally put his camera to use and to film a documentary. Through Fairey and his friends Guetta meets the most iconic and prolific street artist of all time, Banksy. The documentary then maps out the rise and fall of an odd friendship between Guetta and Banksy which ends with one of the most elaborate gallery shows ever conceived by a street artist.
Exit Through The Gift ShopDirected by: BanksyStarring: Banksy GHD Butterfly Green Hair Straighteners, Theirry Guetta, Shepard FaireyRating: 5/5
I’m not typically the one who watches documentaries or the one who is interested in spending a Saturday at an art museum. That being said, this film is incredibly interesting and engaging. Exit Through the Gift Shop maps out the trials and tribulations that struggling street artists face every time they risk going to jail for their passion. The film also questions what exactly constitutes as art and who can be considered an artist.
It's rare that a film can inspire me to try something I've never done. To go out and explore the beauty of life by expanding horizons and questioning the world. Exit Through The Gift Shop is an amazing achievement, well worth watching. |
