Seems that Apple’s iPhone 4 has really proven itself to be quite useful for more than just the every day consumer. The New York Times uses iPhone 4 for quickly and easily uploading video on the go, and Ann Derry, Editorial Director for Video and Television at NYT, considers it to be a “game changer” in terms of video news gathering. Yes, that means many of us already have everything we need to take decent video on the go, just like a New York Times reporter.
I can see why New York Times is starting to experiment with iPhones. There are a number of advantages when it comes to using an iPhone 4 mainly for it’s video capabilities. For one,dvd to mp4 mac, you fairly likely already have one. It takes 720P video, dvd creator for mac, albeit with a tiny sensor. That said, the best camera is always the one you actually have with you, and it’s hard to beat the portability of the iPhone 4. Plus, you have a data connection built in; you don’t even have to sync with your computer to upload the video you just shot. Heck, you can even edit it with iMovie on iPhone. The only real drawback seems to be its audio limitations, which aren’t nearly as much of an issue as previous iPhone models.
So, there you have it. If you own an iPhone 4 (and I’m going to venture a guess that you do), you already have what you need to take great video right in your pocket. While iPhone can’t compete with a modern camcorder in terms of video quality, dvd to ipod converter, it really does have a lot going for it in terms of portability, ease of use, and turn-around time. You can’t guess when news is going to happen, so having a decent video recording device in your pocket at all times really is the best way to stay prepared. It’s easy to see why NYT loves the iPhone.
