Texans' Release OT Ephraim Salaam and OLB David Dixon

The Houston Texans tried to make a trade Tuesday.
They didn't, and instead released offensive tackle Ephraim Salaam and outside linebacker David Nixon. The Texans were trying to trade to help a struggling defense, but John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported that "asking prices were too high."

With Nixon being waived, McClain reported Houston will "have two roster spots for linebackers before they play at Indianapolis on November 1."

"I'm approaching it with, 'Do we move (strong-side linebacker) Zac (Diles) (into the middle) or not move Zac? McClain repored that Adibi, Sharpton and Bentley are expected to be healthy in time for Indianapolis.
